LUNAR NEW YEAR GIFT SET

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group is a global leader in engineering and manufacturing, mainly deliver innovative and integrated solutions across a wide range of industries from commercial aviation and transportation to power plants and gas turbines, and from machinery and infrastructure to integrated defense and space systems. MHI has appointed DIP MAD to create a Lunar New Year gift set. With red packets and calendar for their client as gift.

The design concept is based on their year theme of ‘Carbon Neutrality’. The main visual of the calendar made use of colour half tone as a visual metaphor of air particles. For the primary colour palette, we picked tomato as key colour , the white and red for the symbolism of Japan, and also gold and red representing Lunar New Year. We paired the custom designed logotype with the DIN Next W1G and ヒラギノ角ゴ its bold stance. Foiling and embossing were used in each items to unify the look. For page of each month, there is a theme represented by typography and different gradation of colour half tone and a simplified illustration in gradated effect of the representing product of the month.
